Meet Kate
Kate Hertweck
LICENSED ARTS PSYCHOTHERAPIST AND FOUNDER OF INFLOW CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY
You feel that your full potential is in sight, but you just don’t know how to reach it…
I’m here as a fellow human, who has lived through challenges, confusions, sorrows and losses, as well as successes, learning how to overcome battles with hope, commitment, persistance and resilience.
This lived experience led me to become a Licensed and Board Certified Arts Therapist, EMDR Therapist and Somatic Therapist in Merrick NY and Virtually for New York Residents. With over 10 years of trauma informed experience I created inFlow Creative Arts Therapy with the passion, knowledge and expertise to help you heal from trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, childhood emotional neglect or abuse, C-PTSD, and dissociation.
Through my years of education and training (you can see the details below), I’ve cultivated a unique and effective way of working with clients that helps them experience the healing they desire without feeling like they are going in circles. An approach that is tailored to your unique needs and goals. Expressive and transformative psychotherapy that addresses wounds from the root cause, is science-backed by the most effective truama healing methods available today, and incorporates ancient eastern practices that have been helping people heal for centuries.
Your story is unique, your therapy should be too.
The team here at inFlow includes passionate support staff and highly-skilled therapists, all trained and supervised by Kate, who bring their own unique wisdom and expertise to the relationships they build with clients. Our approach is specialized and highly collaborative, it’s about your unique story, goals, and strengths, and how we can be the best support and guide for your on your healing journey. We work with you as a team, empowering you to listen to your own wisdom and reconnect with your strengths along the way. We walk beside you as you explore not only your goals, hopes and dreams, but also your darkest fears, demons, and pain. Helping you disover your inner truths, your most authentic self, to live your life to it’s fullest potential.
It’s about finding a relationship with a therapist that empowers you to live your most authentic life.
Research proves that one of the best predictors of successful therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. When we’re working with a therapist we connect with, someone that really “gets us”, we can feel safe to explore the darkest corners of our lifes experience. Each therapist at inFlow takes a relational and humanistic approach, which means we show up to the space owning our humanity, connecting on the experiences that affect us all, and honoring the importance of a safe therapeutic relationship. We aren’t the “smile and nod” therapists hiding behind a clip board, we are fellow humans, who see you, get you, and are here to work with you as a team to move past your struggles. If you feel that we would be a good fit together as a team, your time in therapy would be all about you, a place where you can share freely your hopes, worries, fears, goals, and deepest desires. A place where you can feel seen, heard, held, and empowered to experience positive change, release and experience relief.
You can feel confident in the 15+ years of combined experience here at inFlow Creative Arts Therapy.
